The Howard Johnson Plaza
Our home for the weekend will be the Howard Johnson Plaza [Kansas City Airport] located just off I-29. For your convenience, there is an array of amenities to make you feel right at home, such as Internet Access, Swimming Pool and more. For your dining pleasure, you will find Fitzgerald’s Restaurant and Lounge.
Welcome Party
We will begin our exciting weekend with a cocktail party by the pool!. Once you get checked in, join us from 6-8 p.m. We will be supplying all the necessary tools and juices to get your battery recharged after the long drive. That’s right, drinks are on us!!
Tailgate at the Bus
By popular demand, we will be having a tailgate at the bus before the race on Saturday! We’ll be BBQing and have plenty of food & refreshments for everyone!
Race Information
Tickets for both races will be distributed at the Welcome Party. There will be bus transportation to and from the race track from the Howard Johnson hotel. One thing to keep in mind is that you will need to be checked out of the hotel prior to boarding the bus on Sunday, as check out time will be prior to the time we are back from the race track. We will have negotiated rates if you are interested in extending your stay following the final race. |

Playa del Carmen, located in the Riviera Maya is known worldwide as a perfect tropical paradise for travelers eager to explore beyond their hotel room. This incredibly beautiful destination has become the ideal spot for all types of visitors. The area brings together many aspects which are difficult to encounter in any one place on the planet.
The most beautiful beaches of the Mexican Caribbean, visitors who travel from all over the globe come to the Riviera Maya to sunbathe, spa, swim, dive, golf, shop, travel to the nearby ruins of Tulum or further to Coba or Chichen Itza, visit eco-parks, fish, walk, bike, nap, visit Isla Mujeres or take a day trip by ferry to Cozumel.
By night, the beaches quiet down (with a few exceptions) and the nightspots come alive. Enjoy a variety of dining, drinking and shopping at night all along 5th Avenue -- the pedestrian walkway that runs parallel to the beach and offers block after block of restaurants, bars and boutiques.
Unlike the high-rise hustle and bustle in nearby Cancun, Playa del Carmen is a cultural treasure made up of small, independent communities that are still laid-back and exisit in harmony with nature.
